Committed to Quality, Driven by Users
Duong Thi Huyen
She has approximately four years of practical experience in the software testing field, having worked on both web and mobile applications. In her previous role, she contributed to quality improvement by participating in projects for auction and payment functions related to Japan's "Rakuten Keiba." To date, she has been consistently responsible for the entire testing process, from test planning, creation of test design documents and test cases, to test execution and results reporting.
What sparked your interest in TechX, and what was the deciding factor for joining?
When I researched the Japan head office before joining, I learned that it was a stable company with around 1,000 employees and a track record of over 10 years. The deciding factor for me was that the company had just launched its base in Vietnam, and I felt I could grow and contribute while being involved in that initial phase.
What is the main role of the current QC team?
Currently, I am working as a QC for the agent team, collaborating with the development team, the PO, and the BrSEs. I am responsible for the entire process from requirements analysis to test plan creation, execution, and results reporting, aiming to improve the quality of the product delivered to the end-user.
What are you conscious of in high-pressure situations?
In high-pressure situations, such as before a release or when there are specification changes, I consult with all parties involved and consider the optimal solution after organizing the scope of impact. While also reviewing the test strategy as a QC, I strive to balance both delivery deadlines and quality.
What do you find rewarding as a QC?
I find my work rewarding the moment we receive feedback from end-users who are actually using the products we were involved in. Both positive comments and negative opinions are valuable input that leads to improvements in the next version. I feel that being able to improve the user experience also leads to our growth as a team.
What have you learned through collaboration with other members?
While collaborating with development members, I learned a lot from their logical yet flexible approaches to problem-solving. As a result, I feel I have become able to design more effective tests that also take into account the overall system logic and processing flows.
What skills or knowledge would you like to develop in the future?
Currently, I am mainly in charge of manual testing, but in the future, I would like to take on the challenge of automated testing. I believe that by combining manual and automated testing, we can improve quality more efficiently. I also want to polish my Japanese communication skills to be able to interact more smoothly with the Japan side.
What is the appeal of working as a QC at TechX?
I feel the appeal is not only in improving my skills as a QC, but also in being able to deepen my knowledge in the familiar and highly social domain of 'recruitment.' It's an environment where I can get a sense of both my own growth and a connection to society.
