Utilizing Japanese Language and Technical Skills to Be a Bridge Between Japan and Vietnam

Bridge System Engineer

Nguyen Thi My Linh

As a BrSE for approximately three and a half years, she has been engaged in B2B system development across a wide range of industries, including HR management, logistics, IoT, and chat services. In multiple projects, she has been consistently responsible for the entire process from requirements definition to design, testing, and release. She is well-versed in app development using PHP, Flutter, and Bluetooth communication, as well as in creating UML diagrams, ER diagrams, and WBS, supporting her teams with a flexible and practical driving force.

What is your current project and your role as a BrSE?

I am currently participating in a development project for an HR management system.
My main role as a BrSE is to communicate with the product owner (PO) on the Japan side and act as a bridge to the development team on the Vietnam side.

By facilitating smooth communication, I am always conscious of ensuring we reliably meet the quality and schedule requirements based on the specifications from the Japan side.
Specifically, I accurately receive technical requirements from the PO and support the lead engineer within the development team, ensuring smooth progress on both the development and testing fronts.

What has been a particularly challenging experience in your work so far?

My most challenging experience was having to adapt as product requirements and standards continued to change flexibly in response to market needs and the product's practical value.

There were times I felt difficulty amidst the rapidly changing situation, but by closely coordinating and cooperating with stakeholders, we were able to find optimal solutions. Through this experience, I was reminded of the importance of teamwork and adaptability.

When have you felt that you've grown?

Since joining the company, where I have felt the most growth is in my 'perception of things' and my 'approach to problem-solving.'

Through my daily work, I have been able to gain many perspectives, and I feel I have become able to respond far more flexibly and effectively than before.

What ways of working or projects do you think will expand in the new office?

Because the office has a bright and open atmosphere, I think it's an environment where we can create valuable projects while casually learning from and cooperating with everyone on the team. I expect this kind of space will lead to better ways of working and better results.

What challenge would you like to take on in the future, and what career path are you aiming for?

In the future, I want to polish my management skills and deepen my understanding of business as a whole while being involved in even more projects. My future goal is to acquire the ability to take a bird's-eye view of the entire project, in addition to my technical perspective as a BrSE.

What do you expect from new colleagues who will be joining?

I want to work with colleagues who have a sense of responsibility and can actively share their knowledge and experience within the team.

I also value an attitude of contributing to the creation of high-quality products, with a constant awareness of 'creating better value.'
